The Court of First Instance in Sint Maarten has handed down sentences in cases related to attempted murder, armed robberies, and firearms possession.

In one case, the Court sentenced a man (K.M.R) to fourteen years imprisonment on Wednesday, October 27, for two armed home invasions and as a co-perpetrator of attempted manslaughter and firearm possession.

An eight-year sentence was handed down to A.L.F. for attempted manslaughter (committed several times) and possession of a firearm.

Another man R.B., was sentenced to 21 months, of which six months are conditional, and a three-year probation for the possession of a firearm.

These kinds of crimes contribute to a feeling of fear and unease for residents and visitors.
